The Bearded Talisman's Super Bowl LIX Prop Bets

The Bearded Talisman’s SIX Prop Bets for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana
Harrison Butker to score at least 8 points (-141) – Butker has flown under the radar this year after the Commencement Address controversy in May, in part because he actually missed 4 games due to an injury in his non-kicking leg. But he always seems to come up clutch in the biggest of moments, and he’s made all of his kicks so far this postseason. In his last 3 Super Bowls he has scored at least 8 points in ALL of them, including 13 in last year’s win over the 49ers.
Travis Kelce 3-way parlay – 60+ receiving yards with at least 1 TD with Chiefs to win the game (+475) – The Eagles defense surrendered 7 catches and 54 yards and 1 TD to tight end Tyler Higbee in the divisional and 11 catches and 104 yards to tight end Zack Ertz in the NFC Title game. Expect the trend of opposing tight ends having success against the Eagles to continue with Kelce, the greatest pass-catching tight end in NFL history.
Noah Gray to score a TD (+500) – I’m pressing the Eagles D struggling against tight ends. Gray, the Chiefs backup TE from Duke, has 5 touchdowns on the year, all AWAY from Arrowhead. I’m also taking him at +3000 for the very first TD.
George Karlaftis to make at least 1 sack (+102) – The Eagles have allowed 11 sacks combined in their 3 playoff games. Karlaftis has 6 sacks in his last 5 games, including 3 in the divisional vs Houston.
Justin Watson to score a TD (+1100) – This is my Reservoir Dogs “you don’t need proof when you have instinct” prop bet. Watson caught a 2-point conversion attempt against Buffalo two weeks ago, but outside of that he hasn’t had a single target in the postseason. The Pennsylvania native who went to Penn has a knack for playing well against teams from his home state. He caught a touchdown in Week 17 at Pittsburgh, and had 2 catches against the Eagles two years ago in the Super Bowl. And in last year’s Super Bowl against the 49ers he had 3 catches and a key fumble recovery. He won’t be on the field for most plays, but the plays he is actually on the field he will make count.
Justin Reid to make an interception (+850) – The last time the Super Bowl was held in New Orleans in 2013, a Louisiana native and safety named Reed made an interception. His name was Ed Reed and he wore #20. This time Justin Reid, also a Louisiana native and safety and sporting #20, gets his chance. Let’s hope history repeats itself. Reid has been all over the field this playoffs and is in a contract year. On top of that, he’s a really, really good person and a consummate teammate. He’s also 400-1 for MVP. If that hits, it will be the Mumford & Sons “raise my hands, paint my spirit gold” prop hit of the century. And yes, I’m on it – at least a little bit 😉.
